If you live in Australia and wish to lodge an application for a residence and work permit for Denmark please learn the information below carefully. 

All enquiries about residence and work permits for Denmark should be addressed to the Danish Consulate General in Sydney. 

First of all you should find the right application form. Each individual form comes with step-by-step instructions. After that it is a necessary to lodge your application personally either directly with the Danish Consulate General in Sydney. You have to present your original passport upon lodgement of your application. It must be valid for 3 months longer than your intended stay. When you lodge your application with a Danish mission abroad it will cost an application fee. This fee is payable in cash, cheque or money order made out to the Danish Consulate General. The application fee will not be refunded if your application is unsuccessful. Besides, remember to provide 2 sets of the complete application including the application form and all documentation. It may be a photo copy of the original set. The second set of your application will be kept on file in the Consulate General in Sydney while the original will be forwarded to the Immigration Service in Copenhagen. Once the Danish Immigration Service has made a decision they will instruct the Consulate General in Sydney to issue the permit sticker in the applicant's passport. If the Danish Immigration Service refuses your application, a letter of refusal will be sent to you.
