Moving Regulations - Cambodia

If you are going to move to Cambodia from Australia, you should pay attention to Cambodia customs regulations. A foreigner is permitted to transport personal belongings and household goods into Cambodia duty free if he works for an non-governmental organization or has diplomatic status. All other individuals may also bring household goods and personal effects into Cambodia but they will be subject to duty. The amount of the duty is usually negotiated by the customs inspectors and may be different. An individual does not have to be in Cambodia at the time of clearance. However, his company must issue a letter and must be registered.

The following documentation is required:
1) Original Passport – for inbound airfreight and Passport copy – for inbound seafreight.
2) Packing list – in English.
3) Bill of Lading.
4) Employer's stamp on all pages of the packing list.
5) Letter from shipper's employer in Cambodia addressed to the customs chief requesting permission to import.
6) Letter from shipper's employer authorizing agent to import their shipment.

It is prohibited to transport into Cambodia narcotics, pornographic material, firearms, ammunition. Besides, please, do not include alcohol and medicine in personal effects shipments because they can cause delays in clearance and result in additional charges to the customer.
