Import Regulations - Singapore
Singapore is Australia’s largest trade and investment partner in ASEAN and fifth largest trading partner overall. In 2008 Australian merchandise exports to Singapore were A$ 6,2 billion.

Product certification, labeling and packaging
Whisky or brandy requires a certificate of age issued by the approved authority in Australia, stating that it has been stored in wood for at least 3 years.

An import and delivery verification certificate (IDVC) is required for products which are subject to foreign export control.

Labeling should show:
• country of origin
• name and address of manufacturer
• packaging dimensions
• expiry dates
• composition

Packing should be sturdy and should guard against extreme heat in the tropics and high humidity (frequently over 90 per cent) and possible brief periods of storage in the open. Dutiable goods or goods whose importation is restricted, should not be packed in the same package or container as non-dutiable or unrestricted goods.

Documentary requirements
3 copies of commercial invoice are required. The document must show:
• country of origin;
• a detailed description of the goods;
• number and description of packages;
• place of shipment and destination of the goods;
• marks and numbers of individual packages;
• gross and net metric weights or quantity - FOB and CIF values (Incoterms 1990).
2 copies of bill of lading are requested.
2 copies of packing list are required.
2 copies of certificate of origin are required.

Certificate of origin must be completed for goods on which preference is claimed. It must contain:
• details of their total invoice value of the goods;
• a description of goods;
• a signature of the proprietor, a partner or principal official of the manufacturing or supplying firm.
