Product certification, labeling and packaging
Plants, plant parts and plant products require phytosanitary certificates issued by the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service, Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry-Australia or the relevant state department of agriculture.

Description of a product, instructions for use and warranty must be written in Romanian. A sticker printed in Romanian may be placed over existing packaging.

Cosmetics for human use imported from Australia, have to be notified at Ministry of Public Health, Authority of Public Health section.

Labeling for cosmetics must include:
• country of origin;
• manufacturer/importer;
• net quantity;
• list of ingredients and additives;
• producer address;
• function of the cosmetic product;
• special precautions in using;
• durability, consumption expiry date.

Labeling for foodstuff must include:
• name of product;
• origin;
• list of ingredients;
• manufacturer/importer;
• GMO’s;
• organic or not;
• durability;
• nutritional and health claims;
• quantity;
• nutritional information.

There are no general requirements to packaging. Any specific requirements will be stipulated in the contract.

Documentary requirements
Pro-forma invoice may be a requirement of the contract. In the case if requested, details should agree with those on the other shipping documents.

A minimum of 1 original and 4 copies of commercial invoice is required. The use of English is acceptable. The invoice must give a full and complete description of the goods.

A certificate of origin, when requested, must be legalized and certified by an approved authority.
A signed original and 4 copies of bill of lading are required. Packing list is not compulsory but it facilitates clearance.
